Penguin Collective’s mission is to help YSU student-athletes succeed professionally both on and off the field. Composed of Youngstown-Warren area accounting and legal professionals, The Penguin Collective will help local YSU student-athletes build their personal brands as they navigate their college careers and provide them with opportunities to monetize endorsements using their name, image, and likeness.
WHAT IS NAME, IMAGE, & LIKENESS (NIL)?
"NIL," or Name, Image, and Likeness, refers to the newfound opportunity for student-athletes to capitalize on their personal brand. Since July 1, 2021, student-athletes nationwide can monetize their identity, opening up avenues such as:
Organizing sports camps for basketball, soccer, or other sports.
Collaborating with local businesses for promotion and sponsorship.
Participating in photoshoots and autograph sessions.
